Home Loan

This is a sponsored post.

It won’t be too much longer that we will be needing a mortgage loan so we can get out of this tiny apartment. I just hope all goes well. I got a letter from the bank we have our car financed through, pushing for people to refinance for a better rate. Unfortunately I was denied. But I’m sure my info was just run through a check and spit back out without any tweaking or additional info taken. We would be going with a manual underwriter to get a house. I would be nice if credit was built from those cash advance places. We used those for a really long time, and finally got out of them a year or so back.

Lets go Hiking and Stuff

Since my shoes have finally bit the dust, I thought I would look into maybe getting some Hiking Boots. Lucky for me I found a killer site to do just that. They even have gift certificates available, and who wouldn’t want a nice new pair of Hunting Boots. The best part is the free shipping. Simply place an order for over $100 and they will take care of the shipping costs. I think its pretty generous considering the exceptional quality of their items. So if you are in the market for an awesome pair of boots just click the links and check them out.

LED Christmas lights

This is a sponsored post.

Christmas time is getting near again, and this year it may a good idea to consider using LED Christmas lights. Standard incandescent lights are outdated, inefficient, costly, and bad for the environment, but LED Christmas lights use a lot less energy, 1/10th the energy to be exact and will last for more than 50,000 hours compared to less than 2000 for standard incandescents. That is huge. The lights are also much safer because they create very little heat, actually only 1 degree above ambient temperature. LED holiday lights also are very durable as they are constructed of a nearly indestructible epoxy plastic and contain no fragile filament or glass like incandescents. We have had our set for quite some time and they are still holding up like they were new. A recent EPA report determined that if 20% of American homes switched to LED Christmas lights during the average 30 day holiday season it would save 400GWh of electricity, that is nuts. There really is no reason to keep around the old, wasteful, and somewhat dangerous old style of Christmas lights.

Tooth Ache

This is a sponsored post.

I have had more than my share of tooth problems in the past. I had most all of them busted out in a car wreck as a child, and had a freak third tooth coming in the front that had to be removed. I practically lived at the dentist for the longest time, and eventually had braces put on for 3 years. I had a huge overbite that felt like forever to get fixed, and to this day I still feel the only reason I got the bite guard and braces removed when I did was for faking it when they told me to align my jaw teeth. I could hardly contain myself when I saw my brilliant plan come together, and after getting the braces removed I had no intention of wearing the retainer they gave me.

So as years have passed I have basically stayed as far away from dentists as possible, and after moving out of the house and getting married I didn’t have the dental insurance to go if I wanted anyway. I somehow managed to lose a filling eating pizza and I slowly began to develop a nasty cavity in its place, but had no problem tolerating the discomfort it caused me at first. As long as it kept me out of the dentist office. As time went on it grew worse and worse. The tooth eventually got so bad that it cracked and a piece of my tooth came out while I was eating. The pain grew to a point that I could no longer stand, and luckily Jen’s uncle was a dentist. The tooth was too far gone for even a root canal, and had to be pulled. I still haven’t gotten a fake one, and probly never will. You can’t see it anyway.

If I had only known about Dentemp OS I could have avoided the eventual loss of a tooth, and it would have only taken me about 60 minutes. I could have saved myself a lot of pain. It is a temporary dental repair material that replaces lost fillings and can be used to temporarily cement loose crowns. You just remove it from its plastic vial and it’s ready to use, and you can even eat within 30 minutes of setting. I had no idea anything like this existed, and will be stocking up just in case.

Moen

When Jen and I moved into our house, it needed a little work. And we really didn’t feel like fixing any of it, but we did replace all our faucets with Moen faucets and it made a huge difference in the look of our bathrooms and kitchen. They looked great, and they felt rugged like they would last for as long as you would need them to. I knew absolutely nothing about replacing a faucet, but it was wicked easy. I actually managed to get it on the first try. We have since moved to our current apartment, and the kitchen faucet is also a moen. Score!

You can’t hurt steel

This is a sponsored post

I’ve come across a sweet stainless steel tool box. It’s an 8 Inch Bottom Stainless steel rolling tool chest. It’s a massive 48 inches wide, 34 inches tall, 17-7/8 inches deep and only $898. This would be great in the garage when we move to a house. You could fit a ton of tools in that thing, and it looks like it would last forever.

I’ve come across another site for coupon codes, but this one has a firefox extension to alert you just before you buy something online at full price to let you know there is a coupon code available for it. Pretty cool. They have codes for just about anything, including a travelocity coupon.
