Wall-E

We recently thought it would be a good idea to take the kids and go see wall-e. big mistake. just getting in cost 20 bucks, then we got to stand in line forever for some burnt ass popcorn and watered down coke. toss on another 20 bucks. i was pretty impressed by the new theater. the screen was super clear, and the sound was great. but thats where the problem started. the sound. it was just too damn loud. before we even got to our seats gavin was freaking the hell out, covering his ears, and saying he wanted to go home. jen managed to calm him down, and we made our way to our seats. as soon as we sat down and wall-e came on gavin started right back up again, but louder, and would not look at the screen at all. we gave him some time to get used to it while laura sat qiuetly watching the movie, until the explosions started and i could tell she was going to get scared and scooped her up. as long as i was holding her she was fine. she even clapped when when parts of earth were blown up, but gavin was now on the floor.
jen gets up to leave and swap out the sorry popcorn, and i am left debating on whether to leave and just eat the forty dollars wasted, or sit through the rest of this crappy movie while my son has a meltdown. We got out pretty fast, like crazy elliptical trainer fast, and luckily the manager was nice enough to give us credits for another movie. makes me think we arent the only ones to complain about the volume of the movie. id rather just have my damn money back tho. so ya wall-e was pretty shit-e.

Stay Alive….hope I Stay Awake

Well I still have about 3 hours to go before the servers are up, and with my dailies knocked out I suppose I could suffer through a crappy movie. Stay Alive sounds full of greatness. I’m sure. Dunno if I posted about the turd that is Desperation and if I did it is worth mentioning once again how awful it was. Stephen King’s books should stay in book form, tho I do want to check out The Mist. I also recently saw The Simpsons movie, and it rocked. Was far better than I was expecting it to be. Wish I had some snacks to enjoy with my sucky movie. Maybe i should get some hoodia pills so I’m not ALWAYS hungry.

The Waiting

So the posts are knocked out, the dishes are done, Gavin is off to school, and of course Laura is napping. Prime Wow time. Of course tho the servers are still down, and probly will be for at least another 4-5 hours. I have an insane amount of movies backed up, but I couldn’t pick out a single one I even care to see. They are all so blah. Seems like everything that comes out now is either Holiday/Kids/Animated, lame action, pathetic horror, or retard comedy. Where are all the fucked up weird movies that require a bit of brainpower to enjoy? I really don’t think I can sit through another carbon copy of a movie. I think from now on I will enforce a 20 minute rule. If after 20 minutes of watching a movie I am not moderately interested in whats going on I will just move on to the next. I know there are great movies that take longer than 20 minutes to really unfold, but with the constant stream of crap coming out I will take that risk.

Looks like the servers will be down till around 1PM today. Thats a lot of crappy movies. I’m not sure thats the best way to spend a final day of vacation, but there isn’t much else going on right now. Besides it’s either that or watch more Wonder Pets.

Gotta love Tuesday wow maintenance. At least it forces me to do something else for a few hours tho. Now that the dishes are done and the house is tidied up tho I can’t decide whether to watch a crappy movie or just bs around the web. I should probly at least throw on a new theme to the site or something. And could I get any more drug treatment related links? Seriously.

Tiger’s Yawn

Of the few movies I have watched recently, one that was at least somewhat decent was tiger’s tail. I had no clue beforehand what this would be about, which usually is good not having any idea if it will blow or not. Starting off I was a bit worried since it just plops you into it in an almost over subtle way. Like joining a conversation mid way through. But they picked up the pace pretty quick when the main character sees a dude that looks like his double. It was pretty slow moving for the rest of the movie, Tyler said he couldn’t stay awake when he watched it, but for me it was just weird enough to hold my interest. Unfortunately like most movies the ending blew chunks, and I would have to say that I wouldn’t recommend anyone else watch it. Instead you could watch penguins surf in Surfs up, or pick up some body shop supplies. Sweet.

movie stack

With all my movie time going towards working my warlock, I am really getting behind on my crappy movies. I have a ton piled up to watch. 1408, evan almighty, pirates of the carribean, wind chill, the messengers, the reapening, and a ton of others that did so well I have never heard of them before. I am sure 90% of them will blow, but a lot of times the best part is complaining about them afterwards. Maybe a little market research would do some good. Maybe I don’t know what I am talking about.

“Samsonite…I was Way Off”

I just got an opp for Samsonite luggage and it immediately made me think of Dumb and Dumber. If you were born under a rock and haven’t seen the movie, Harry and Lloyd are trying to figure our the name of a woman who owns a briefcase and decide to check the briefcase to see if it is written on it. It is a Samsonite so of course they think that is her name. Classic. Now I kinda want to watch it again.

Harry: What’s her last name? I’ll look it up.
Lloyd: You know, I don’t really recall. Starts with an S! Let’s see. Swim? Swammi? Slippy? Slappy? Swenson? Swanson?
Harry: Maybe it’s on the briefcase.
Lloyd: Oh, yeah! It’s right here.
[He reads the manufacturer’s name, which is Samsonite]
Lloyd: Samsonite! I was way off! I knew it started with an S, though.

Mimzy Phone Home

Just watched The Last Mimzy and I thought it was good….almost. From the start I wasn’t even sure if I would finish watching it cause I started to get that “Is this a kids movie?” kinda vibe, but figured it would do at least till i finished feeding the baby. Then when I saw that the guy who plays Dwight from The Office was in it I figured it was at least worth finishing. These 2 kids find these weird object from the beach, and that they can do some pretty fucked up stuff. From this point on I was totally into it, and the rest of the movie turned out to be really good. It didn’t have much of a kid movie feel to it anymore either. It really reminded me of E.T. , and who doesn’t love E.T.?

Unfortunately, like all things that are good in life, something had to ruin it. The movie did such a good job of building up to the ending, but as the end drew near it really gave a feeling that they had no idea how to wrap it up and tried to cram too much into too little time. I also couldn’t help but notice that for some reason in the last 15-20 minutes of the movie that the acting completely went to shit, and the dialog just got weird. Its like they said “Fuck! I lost the end of the script!” “Its o.k just let the kids finish the movie!” Without spoiling too much in the movie, the f.b.i. is chasing these kids down because of the things they are able to do, yet when they finally catch up to them to witness them opening a bridge to the future they simply ask the parents “is there anything we can do for you? whelp, see you later” and they fucking leave! So I guess this really is a kids movie, cause its full of bullshit. Anyway it was still entertaining to watch even if the ending is a bummer.

Welcome to Tennessee, patron state of shootin’ stuff.

I have watched a few movies the past few days. Here is a quick rundown. Anything you read that says otherwise is full of it.

Apocalypto - If I’d known beforehand that I’d be reading subtitles the whole movie I most likely would have passed on this one. I was already on the fence just because it was from Mel Gibson, but turned out to be really good. Of course it was gory as all fuck. Gibson has some issues.

Shooter - Was really shocked by this one. Great storyline and I found the acting equally as good. While watching it I kept thinking how it reminded me of watching Rambo fuck shit up when I was a kid. Didn’t know Marky Mark could be such a badass.

The Fountain - I knew this movie would be strange and is mainly why I wanted to see it. Some parts were so slow and drawn out it almost lost me, but the ending made it all worth it.

Breach - Great movie. Almost didn’t give it a fair chance cause I wasn’t fully paying attention in the beginning , but it sucked me in. No huge twists or crazy ending, just a movie that is good from start to finish.

Ratatouille - Not bad, kinda long for a kids movie. We have seen it twice already. Not near as funny as it’s said to be.

Ghost Rider - Coulda been good. Ghost Rider wasn’t nearly as cool as in the comics, but the visuals were nice, and I thought the characters were decent. Unfortunately the story was lame and the bad guys were pretty shitty. The part I had the most trouble choking down was the young Johnny Blaze looks absolutely nothing like the grown version that is Nicholas Cage . What a joke.

Next - I really wanted to like this movie, but it’s pure crap. There is no explanation as to why dude has his powers and the way this fbi chick figures out about the 2 minutes he can see into the future is just too much to be believable. It only gets worse as it goes on. When the main character starts splitting into different time periods of himself near the end I was ready to flush this turd. I wouldn’t dislike Cage so much if he weren’t in so many bad movies.

The Abandoned - I truly believe this movie was written and filmed completely on-the-fly. No plot, no scares, and no reason to ever speak of this steaming pile ever again.

Epic Movie - What the fuck was I thinking
