Since I am already posting about cars, I saw a fender bender in the parking lot at work the other night. It was pretty dark out and Employee A was in a hurry to get in her car and take off, as was Employee B. One came swooping by , and without looking the other floored it straight into their back end. It looked awesome in person, and luckily noone was hurt. One car was flawless, but the other had some rear damage and a busted tail light. Maybe she should consider some tail light guards for that hooptie.

Its almost been a month since we bought our car. For the most part is is doing pretty well, with a few minor things here and there we need to get fixed up. Hopefully they can handle that, but I am probly giving them way too much credit. I doubt they can properly change a tire. As long as they dont do anything to it that would cause a wreck we should be ok. I guess thats why we pay for car insurance tho.
Our car has made it over a week, and aside from the few little things we still are trying to get fixed, it seems to be a really nice car. It doesn’t have any truck accessories, but that is ok, ya know….since its a car and all. The best part is we are still rocking on the original fill up from when we bought it. I am really digging the remote start too, when I can remember to use it. Hopefully this car will last us a long time. I sure as hell don’t look forward to buying another vehicle.
Our car buying madness is finally over….well for the most part. Now is the fun part of getting all the problems fixed. It usually takes around 5-6 months to get the issues fixed, even tho its supposed to be done in the first 30 days…but whatever. If you hadn’t seen the post on Jen’s blog about the exploding rear glass in the car we bought, it was a fun day. We took it back and got one just like it, but for $3k more. We soon realized our mistake and went back this morning to repurchase the original car, but with a replaced windshield. Now its just a matter of getting all the tiny glass shards out that were left behind, getting the idle fixed, replacing the rear speakers and headrests, and figuring out wtf is going on with the steering. Guess this will show if my new manager really is worth a damn when it comes to service issues.
As for the car buying process itself…well I am extremely disappointed with how we were treated. Disappointed but not surprised. At all. What was surprising tho is how the issue was handled when I informed a manager of my stranded wife and kids, and was blown off so he could answer his phone, then later returned to tell me it would have to wait until after his meeting in an hour and a half. Amazing. You can bet I brought this issue up to someone and I hope they fire his fat ass.
Our car finally arrived. It has a bit more cosmetic issues than we were expecting, but overall it still looks really good. We found a few things that need to be fixed before we make the swap, and I am hoping they can get them done today so that we can purchase it tonight. I just want to make sure it is completely fixed first. I know the usual drill all to well to make that mistake again. We need to check out some car spoilers for it. I think that would make it look even better. It looks like Jen is already on top of that tho =)
At work today I had the pleasure of driving a customers car to and from a repair shop about 4-5 miles of where I work. Not only was it a Nissan, but it was the same year and model as ours. And what do you know….the breaks were quite, and it was even raining today. I had already planned to take the van back in to get them to fix the rear brakes again, but now I am really going to get on them about it if they try to give me any static. If we could just get rid of the screaming brakes, and maybe throw on a car spoiler, the van would be pretty pimping. Maybe some rims too.
I have been thinking of slapping on a new theme to the site, and touching things up a bit, but as usual don’t see anything that interests me at all. We still haven’t heard back anything at work on who our new manager will be. I am more interested in getting them to fix our screaming ass brakes. If I hear “It’s a Nissan” one more time someone is getting a throat punch. It’s funny how when you are buying the vehicle it is a completely different tone. They did finally fix the front brakes tho after Jen jumped their shit. But they cheaped out and only did the front. So now I have to twist their arm and try to get the back done, which was the majority of the problem anyways. Retards.
For the most part of Saturday my wife walked the car lot trying to get someone to help her out so that we could get the process of buying the Accord started. I was busy working, so there was not a whole lot that I could help with. I managed to get enough time that we could take it for a test drive, and aside from a few fixable issues, we liked it. So I went back to working while she went to get the van appraised again since we were a day over the limit. After what seemed like forever they came back with the same offer and they got started with a credit app. By this time I was pretty much done and came up front to watch the wrapping up of what we thought was a done deal.
Unfortunately even tho the car we were buying was much cheaper than what we had already financed on the van, they would not finance the negative equity. I know they have their reasons, but to me it is stupid that they are not willing to finance it even tho the grand total is cheaper than what we already have. So basically the day was a waste, and we have decided to try to sell the van ourselves to pull in the slack, and try to get the Accord before someone else snatches it up. It wouldn’t kill them to look into some better human resources software to gain a little insight on their employees.
I thought for sure the Accord would have rolled in by now, but of course it still hasn’t. Today would have worked out very nicely cause I could have checked it out during work, and then got the ball rolling to buy it when I got off. But now it will probably come in tomorrow when I will be stuck there until closing. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to work while buying a car. It really gets me that we are having to pay such a high trucker fee when it is taking a ridiculous amount of time to arrive. Ah well. Maybe I can check out some Wilmington NC real estate while I wait. Not saying I will, but I could.
Man is it getting harder and harder to care about posting. I even have another link for drug rehabilitation. It’s like a rerun in blog form. A few more and I will be up there with VH1.
The car we had transferred in still has not shown up yet. I am guessing it will roll in today at some point, not that I even care anymore. It will at least be interesting to see how bad the trucking company bangs it up. They have a bad rep for messing up cars. Guess we will see.
