Wine of the Month Club

I don’t drink a lot of wine. I don’t even like wine. Maybe I just haven’t given it a real shot. I know I have never tried anything that didn’t come out of the box. I stumbled on a killer site for a wine of the month club. It looks like a great way to try out new wines that are actually some of the best in the world and in a bottle…not a cardboard box. They deliver to your doorstep, or if you want to use it as a gift they will deliver to the recipient of your choice. You get two outstanding wines per month from California’s small, family-owned ultra-premium vineyards. All wines they feature in each of their four wine clubs have earned top medals at the major wine competitions or have been highly rated by a national wine publication. There are no wine club sign up fees, no monthly dues, no minimum obligation. You may cancel at any time for any reason, so if wine is your thing be sure to head over to http://www.goldmedalwine.com/

The Shadow

After waiting several days to see if the seller of my rizr was going to send a tracking number, i decided to go ahead and email them and ask for it. He said he still hadnt shipped it, but that he would saturday(2 days ago) and would send me the tracking number that evening. Well after Saturday came and went, and then Sunday, and still no word from him I said screw it and told him to keep his damn phone and just refund our money. Granted there was a holiday last week, but still, it shouldnt take you over a week just to take it to the damn post office.

We decided to just go ahead and add another line to get a sweet discount on a brand new phone. I had been planning on changing my number anyway, and it will be nice having a warranty on the phone incase anything were to go wrong. I went with the Tmobile Shadow. It is beyond sweet, and it is killing me having to wait for it to get here. I have been checking out mover NYC while I wait. True story.

Work Sucks

I recently have been putting a lot of thought into a change of employment. I heard of a job through another coworker and the more I heard about it the better it sounded. The more I asked about it, the more unbelievable it became, and up until tonight I was all set to ditch my job as soon as I could get my foot in the door there. Luckily tonight I got to bounce some questions off another coworker who had spent a few days there, while salesmen seemed to constantly interrupt us to ask about our tool storage and what type of tools we had. After talking it over for a while it really seems that although the pay is a huge step up, the job itself is a giant leap in the opposite direction of where I want to be heading. I am sure this would be another one of those times in my life where I don’t realize what I had until its far too late, which is a huge bummer, cause I feel like I am letting my family down by not at least trying it out. I also found out tonight tho that our insurance may be making a big change, and I hope that it will become more affordable. I also have a raise coming in the next few months, and am hoping It is a bit better than the year before.

Christmas 07

Well Christmas was pretty awesome. Got to spend time with the fam, and the kids seem to like all their presents. Jen cooked her first Christmas turkey and it was great. Laura has started crawling the past few days. It is funny as hell seeing her scoot around, but it is pretty much impossible to do anything while she is awake now. She is into everything! I can’t believe Christmas has already come and gone. Time really starts to fly when you have kids.

I am starting to see just how sorry my benefits at work are, and am in the process of getting some life insurance quotes to see if I can find something better on my own.

Motoooorola

After my phone started pissing me off I started checking out a few others, and had narrowed it down to a Blast, Dash, or 629 Samsung Slider. I put my phone on ebay and it sold within a day or so. I emailed a ton of people on craigslist (18) and only got 2 or 3 responses. Then at work I tested out the Blast a bit more thoroughly and completely hated it. Samsung phones feel so cheap compared to Motorola. The call quality sucked, the keypad sucked, Opera Mini was blocked out, and I was told that the battery could be better. After putting my sim back in my w490 I completely lost the urge of getting a new phone, and despite the annoyances it is a bad ass phone, but since it was already sold I decided I could go ahead and get the Rizr Z3 which is the same phone in slider form. Moto4life!

It looks like we will need some new outdoor lighting with the Xmas lights coming down, so Smokey won’t have to sit in the dark lol.

Sleep Outside the Box

So here is my final version of the video I have been working on. I hit a lot of complications, but was able to work through them and finally get it uploaded. I was shocked to see that it came out to a whopping 443MB! I was worried downgrading the quality would be drastic, but I am still very pleased with the final product. It was a lot of fun making it, and Jen was a huge help =P
Anyway, if you’ve ever thought of checking out a memory foam mattress, but were scared off by the price, now would be a great time to head over to http://www.bedinabox.com/. I have not seen a deal like this on memory foam mattresses as thick as they offer. I don’t get a lot of sleep, and I am certain that a mattress of that quality would make every hour that I do get count. They offer a wide selection, and the shipping is not only fast, but is free to the U.S. With their in home trail, there is no reason to not give it a try and see for yourself.

Not much Left

I thought I was close to being done with the mattress video, but when I went to start recording the voices I noticed the music was skipping. This was pretty much the last I could take of Windows Movie Maker. I worked too hard on the recording and editing to have it all go to waste with the audio. So I checked out some trials and ended up with Sony Vegas. It’s not the first time I’ve used the software, so it didn’t take long to get going. It went really smoothly. It has so many more options. Pretty much the only thing left is for Jen to record her voice parts, and it’s done. I drank so much coffee trying to get this done. It may be time for me to invest in an espresso machines.

Almost finished

Spent most of the day working on the bedinabox video. It’s turning out really well i think. I never really intended to do it, let alone spend this much time on it. I hope it pays off, it has been a lot of work. It looks like all that is left is to overdub the voices. Windows Movie Maker is so limited i had to pull a few tricks to get it to do what I want, I hope whats left goes pretty smooth.

I recently got to try out the sacred Samsung Blast at work the other day. I was really let down by it. Not only was it nowhere near as nice as I had exptected it to be, but it screwed up the formating on my micro sd card. When I put it back in my phone I didn’t notice the odd behavior till the next day leaving me to think my phone was screwed up. Luckily I got it all figured out….3 hours later. I am pretty much sold on Motorola. The w490 is still going strong, which has to be a personal record. I do want to upgrade to the rizr z3 which is basically the same phone, but a slider, but i’ll wait till its actually upgrade time.

For Spoiled Rich Kids

I saw a link on the wow launcher for a new Warcraft laptop and had to check it out. It’s from Dell and it looks awesome. The art on the casing is nice, and you can choose your faction logo. The price is a bit outrageous, but I guess if you have money to blow, why not. I thought playing wow on a laptop was not so great. I had to buy a usb mouse and keyboard just to make it playable, but I guess if you played it on a touchpad for a while you could get used to it. Priced at almost $5k I don’t see them selling too well, even tho they are extremely nice looking. They should offer some type of computer rental so you can try it out and see how it is with a touchpad.

Can’t Touch This

The other day while Gavin and I waited for his bus to come, he decided to bust out a little dance number while he sang some gibberish. Then Jen and I thought it would be funny to cut out his moved and edit them into a video. I really need to look into a better video editing software. Windows Movie Maker is so buggy and frustrating when you want to do something so small. I feel like I always have to take the long way around to do certain things.

Fun Fact: I have never been to Vegas, but if I did I would check out some Vegas hotels before I left. Yep
