Today I was thinking about how long I have been listening to devildriver almost exclusively. Its almost been a year. I guess it says a lot when you can wear something out that long and still not be sick of it. The only thing that sucks is now whenever I listen to anything else I just feel bored. Luckily the lead singer says they don’t plan to stop releasing albums anytime soon. Woot. Its definately not for everyone tho. I can definately hear a pantera influence in there which is probly what initially attracted me to them in the first place. I also like the corny videos that give the impression that they don’t take themselves overly serious like most metal bands. I have searched the net up and down for a band that sounds at least a tad similar, but nothing comes close. So far the closest show they have done is texas, but if they ever come to tennessee I will have to score some of those Wicked tickets.

I have had more than my share of tooth problems in the past. I had most all of them busted out in a car wreck as a child, and had a freak third tooth coming in the front that had to be removed. I practically lived at the dentist for the longest time, and eventually had braces put on for 3 years. I had a huge overbite that felt like forever to get fixed, and to this day I still feel the only reason I got the bite guard and braces removed when I did was for faking it when they told me to align my jaw teeth. I could hardly contain myself when I saw my brilliant plan come together, and after getting the braces removed I had no intention of wearing the retainer they gave me.
So as years have passed I have basically stayed as far away from dentists as possible, and after moving out of the house and getting married I didn’t have the dental insurance to go if I wanted anyway. I somehow managed to lose a filling eating pizza and I slowly began to develop a nasty cavity in its place, but had no problem tolerating the discomfort it caused me at first. As long as it kept me out of the dentist office. As time went on it grew worse and worse. The tooth eventually got so bad that it cracked and a piece of my tooth came out while I was eating. The pain grew to a point that I could no longer stand, and luckily Jen’s uncle was a dentist. The tooth was too far gone for even a root canal, and had to be pulled. I still haven’t gotten a fake one, and probly never will. You can’t see it anyway.
If I had only known about Dentemp OS I could have avoided the eventual loss of a tooth, and it would have only taken me about 60 minutes. I could have saved myself a lot of pain. It is a temporary dental repair material that replaces lost fillings and can be used to temporarily cement loose crowns. You just remove it from its plastic vial and it’s ready to use, and you can even eat within 30 minutes of setting. I had no idea anything like this existed, and will be stocking up just in case.
Scored a killer deal on an 8700C on craigslist. The dude was nice as hell and even threw in a free bluetooth headset. I had never really wanted one before, and we aren’t supposed to use them at work which is dumb as hell, but after messing with it it is pretty sweet. I am wondering how far it reaches from the phone. Hoping I can just plop the phone in the middle of the apartment and just wear the set. I may eventually get a dongle for the pc so i can replace my wired headset, but its working fine so there isnt any rush.
As far as the 8700 it was in decent condition. Only had some paint rubbed of on the edges from the holster, and the screen was scratch free. Took less than a day to get an unlock code and everything went smooth. Having a blackberry and the data plan makes the downtime at work go by so much faster. Going to have to get on the ball with my blogs to cover the data plan and Warcraft. Its totally worth it tho.

When Jen and I moved into our house, it needed a little work. And we really didn’t feel like fixing any of it, but we did replace all our faucets with Moen faucets and it made a huge difference in the look of our bathrooms and kitchen. They looked great, and they felt rugged like they would last for as long as you would need them to. I knew absolutely nothing about replacing a faucet, but it was wicked easy. I actually managed to get it on the first try. We have since moved to our current apartment, and the kitchen faucet is also a moen. Score!
After roughly a year of talking smack about World of Warcraft and how I was done with it for good, my homie Tyler and I decided we were tired of fighting the inevitable and signed our lives back to the people at Blizzard. It felt good to give in, and it is nice to actually be playing and enjoying a game, rather than always talking about some game that is about to come out that we hope doesn’t blow as hard as the rest, and always ends up in the trash. The biggest difference between now and when I used to play it tho is the amount of time I have to invest in leveling my character. Laura makes sure I don’t stay on too long, and I am glad for that. Any more than a few hours every couple of days is really too much, I don’t want to be one of those people that never log off and have possibly developed cerebral palsy or something from lack of movement. I know this will prevent me from ever doing anything epic in the game, or having kick ass gear, but that doesn’t mean that It is any less fun.
I decided to go with the one class I had never really tried before, the warlock. So far I am only level 21 and it seems to be pretty pimp. Only 49 levels to go.
I find it odd that some people still wear watches. Do some people carry around cellphones that don’t have a clock on them? Come on. I suppose it is a fashion thing. Cartier has some really nice looking ones, but I guess I just am not a watch dude. Maybe if i had a watch that did something other than just tell time, like shoot lasers or something, then maybe.
Jen scored a deal on a “sturdy” rocking chair on ebay that the listing said it was “not wobbly at all”. They crammed it in the back of our van like they were in a hurry. Probly so they could get the hell out of there before we realized how big a piece of crap this thing is. It doesn’t even rock the way it is supposed to, kind of a diagonal rock. It looked like hell too. We ended it up dragging it out to the dumpster. We think it may also be haunted. If that is the case and there is some old woman ghost planning on sticking around we will be hitting up a realtor or two and getting the hizell out of here.
We finally got the stolen razr back from the person who bought it from us on ebay, and the guy we originally bought it from looks like he will cooperate in giving our money back so that we can refund the other person. Jen’s boss was super nice and gave me his old one, and even tho it showed sings of use, it still works great. Since the stolen phone looked brand new I figured it would be a waste to just give it back to him so he can toss it, so I managed to swap out the pieces to the majority of the phones, keeping the best pieces out of the two. It now looks like a brand new phone, and I am loving it. There is not a scratch on it. I even jacked the battery since mine didn’t have one. I consider it a fee for all our trouble with the stolen one.
In other news, we are finally getting to sit down on Thursday to find out which school Gavin will be hitting the books at. I hope they get him in quick and that it won’t change our schedules much.
Not really a whole lot going on the past few days. Someone bought the Accord we were looking at, but we weren’t going to be able to get it anyway. I have bounced from the t429 to my sisters blackberry 7290, and then to a crappy nokia 2610. It is a piece, but I only got it at as a temp phone anyway. Jen’s boss is going to hook me up with a black razr. Hopefully this time I can pull off the unlock process. It should be fun either way.
The other day a girl I work with, who actually made it a couple of days on the juice fast, asked if we were ever going to try it again. I still want to eventually give it a shot, maybe even pop in for a colon cleanse or something. Jen and I just seem to be weak when it comes to the whole skipping of the first meal.
