Gotta love Tuesday wow maintenance. At least it forces me to do something else for a few hours tho. Now that the dishes are done and the house is tidied up tho I can’t decide whether to watch a crappy movie or just bs around the web. I should probly at least throw on a new theme to the site or something. And could I get any more drug treatment related links? Seriously.

Vacasheeyon

I put in my request for vacation next week. Woot. I’m only taking a 5 day, but that still rocks. I am so sick of that place 5 days away sounds great. Me and Jen will get at least a couple of days to spend together too. Feels like we hardly see each other, and it’s never long enough to actually go out and do anything.

On another note, my family insurance is still not correct. I have been trying to get it set up for over a year now. I have called corporate, mailed in the forms, and redone it several times on the site. Its retarded and I am about to lose it on the next rep I speak to.

LED Christmas lights

This is a sponsored post.

Christmas time is getting near again, and this year it may a good idea to consider using LED Christmas lights. Standard incandescent lights are outdated, inefficient, costly, and bad for the environment, but LED Christmas lights use a lot less energy, 1/10th the energy to be exact and will last for more than 50,000 hours compared to less than 2000 for standard incandescents. That is huge. The lights are also much safer because they create very little heat, actually only 1 degree above ambient temperature. LED holiday lights also are very durable as they are constructed of a nearly indestructible epoxy plastic and contain no fragile filament or glass like incandescents. We have had our set for quite some time and they are still holding up like they were new. A recent EPA report determined that if 20% of American homes switched to LED Christmas lights during the average 30 day holiday season it would save 400GWh of electricity, that is nuts. There really is no reason to keep around the old, wasteful, and somewhat dangerous old style of Christmas lights.

Work naps

I cannot get over the fact that there are people I work with who not only have the cahones to sleep at work, but also have been reported and have had no action taken against them. It seems everyone else is constantly corrected for the things we do. They took away our cards saying it looked like we were gambling, and tyler and I were snitched on when we were listening to the frikkin radio. We practicly caused our last meeting after bringing our psps to work, but at least it kept us awake. its pathetic. They don’t even try to hide it, and there is a camera watching the whole thing. Still the manager does nothing about it, so they continue to snooze through the weekends.

Tiger’s Yawn

Of the few movies I have watched recently, one that was at least somewhat decent was tiger’s tail. I had no clue beforehand what this would be about, which usually is good not having any idea if it will blow or not. Starting off I was a bit worried since it just plops you into it in an almost over subtle way. Like joining a conversation mid way through. But they picked up the pace pretty quick when the main character sees a dude that looks like his double. It was pretty slow moving for the rest of the movie, Tyler said he couldn’t stay awake when he watched it, but for me it was just weird enough to hold my interest. Unfortunately like most movies the ending blew chunks, and I would have to say that I wouldn’t recommend anyone else watch it. Instead you could watch penguins surf in Surfs up, or pick up some body shop supplies. Sweet.

movie stack

With all my movie time going towards working my warlock, I am really getting behind on my crappy movies. I have a ton piled up to watch. 1408, evan almighty, pirates of the carribean, wind chill, the messengers, the reapening, and a ton of others that did so well I have never heard of them before. I am sure 90% of them will blow, but a lot of times the best part is complaining about them afterwards. Maybe a little market research would do some good. Maybe I don’t know what I am talking about.

Kill your television

I was just realizing how jen and I have gone from juggling a ton of different shows to almost none at all. Just a few weeks ago we had rock of love and hogan knows best on sundays, and prison break and the pickup artist on mondays. Tuesday I would usually download the latest episode od weeds. Thursdays we had scrubs, greys anatomy and the office, and on the days there was nothing on I made my way through all the episodes of nip/tuck.
Well prison break is just a joke now. Its like a rehash of season one but nowhere near as good, so I let that show go, along with weeds. The current season of weeds could not be more boring. The pickup artist and rock of love both ended, and I can’t muster up enough care to even check out greys this season. I feel like we only watched hogan knows best cause it came on beside rock of love. The office is still good, but I think jen is slowly losing interest. Hopedully it will pick up in the next few episodes. I am also hoping this final season of scrubs goes out with a bang, and that the new season of nip/tuck is better than the last. I have been thinking of picking up heroes and giving it a shot, but I have heard really mixed reviews. I think I love new york has slowly sucked us in but its not like we have to keep up with it considering vh1 reruns their shows into the dirt. We need to look into a plasma tv with a sweet plasma mount.

French tizoast

It feels like this week has gone by pretty quickly. Laura has been doing much better with her sleeping, and with gavin at school for the first half of the day the house is pretty calm. Usually the weekends drag with me being at work so long, but our new cracker barrel breakfast ritual gets the day off to a nice start. I’ve actually been getting to work at a decent time, I think mainly due to the new alarm clock. We are so used to our old one that we can sleep right through it. I have felt so rested lately I may cancel those Orlando vacations that I never ordered.

Hallows End

After getting wow reinstalled virus free I noticed the loader screen had changed to a picture of the headless horseman and had a caption about hallows end. After getting logged in and stopping by the bank I ran into someone with a quest for me to turn in at another city. When I arrived there was a woman wearing an orc mask who wanted me to put out some fires down the road. So I grabbed a pale of water, ran down the street, and chucked some water on the fires. The masked woman rewarded me with some halloween candy that turned me orange and made me taller. It was sweet.
I then read that every 3-4 hours the headless horseman spawned in the Scarlet Monastery dungeon. I looked him up and he sounds pretty tough, but if you kill him he drops some pretty cool stuff. Today Tyler informed me that while he was hanging out around the masked chic with the candy the headless horseman set a bunch of buildings on fire, and if you put them out you get rewarded with more treats, and some sexy costumes like bats, skeletons, and jack-o-lantern heads. That’s one of the killer things about wow. They are always doing seasonal stuff to keep it interesting.

Infected

The other day while playing warcraft I hopped off for a second to grab a mod I needed. I went to wowui which has become the most popular wow mod site, and after grabbing the mod I needed I happened to see that there was an update to a fishing mod I already had. So I thought I might as well go ahead and update it. I installed everything and signed back on. A few minutes later tyler signed on and when I went to type him a message warcraft froze on me. This wasn’t the first time I had this issue so I restarted and thought nothing more of it. Once I got into the game my entire.interface, key bindings, and game options had all been reset. I assumed it was due to the restart so I redid them, logged out, and signed back in only to find they had reset again.
I checked the forums to see if I could find the cause of this, and found a few other peeps had the same issue. We eventually traced it back to the website we downloaded the mods from. We tried everything to remove the trojan, but the best we could do was to stop it from running with kaspersky, and before the day was over Jen said it flagged it as a keylogger. Yay.
So after work I had to reformat….again. Luckily Chip made me copies of his wow dvds so I didn’t have to do the dreaded 10 disc instal. We decided it was finally time to keep our pc a bit more secure , so I decided to go with mcafee and all their pc medical supplies since the free AVs didn’t stand up to the task. Seems to be decent so far, but we will see.
