Grade School Cell

I just saw a commercial for Target back to school junk, and one of the first clips was some kids drawing with some chalk or something. Next to them was a calculator. The camera zoomed in all dramatically on the calculator. The funny thing is my first reaction to this was “what the hell kind of cellphone is that?”. But it didn’t stop there. The next clip showed kids going crazy in the classroom, where I noticed yet another calculator and my next thought was “what do kids this age need with a …..oooohhhh thats a calculator!!!”

Since when do they let kids at that age use calculators anyway? Are they really letting kids be that mentally lazy that early in school now? It really wouldn’t surprise me. Half of them probly bust into kindergarten with a blackberry, and payroll software on their new laptop. Personally I feel that if you aren’t old enough to drive, then you really have no business with a cellphone. But whatever.

Weeds

Just saw that Weeds will be coming back for season 3. This is great  news cause tv is really sucking balls lately. There isn’t shit coming out on dvd either. At least I will have something worth watching come august 13th. If you haven’t seen it you are missing out. You can probly guess what the show is about. The finale for season 2 was easily the best cliffhanger I have ever seen on tv. I hope they don’t fuck this season up. That seems to be the trend with a lot of decent shows lately. Like Scrubs. I can’t believe they are going to stretch that show out for yet another season. They are just killing it.

Qwerty 4 Life

Well it looks like it may be time to start watching the mail boxes again. As hard as I tried I can no longer fight the urge to get a phone with a full qwerty keyboard. There are a lot of things I like about the Razr, but the texting is not one of them. I still want to keep it simple, I’m not really looking to get another pda or anything. Just a regular phone that has a full keyboard. Only a few come to mind so it will probly just be wichever one I can find the better deal on.

“Samsonite…I was Way Off”

I just got an opp for Samsonite luggage and it immediately made me think of Dumb and Dumber. If you were born under a rock and haven’t seen the movie, Harry and Lloyd are trying to figure our the name of a woman who owns a briefcase and decide to check the briefcase to see if it is written on it. It is a Samsonite so of course they think that is her name. Classic. Now I kinda want to watch it again.

Harry: What’s her last name? I’ll look it up.
Lloyd: You know, I don’t really recall. Starts with an S! Let’s see. Swim? Swammi? Slippy? Slappy? Swenson? Swanson?
Harry: Maybe it’s on the briefcase.
Lloyd: Oh, yeah! It’s right here.
[He reads the manufacturer’s name, which is Samsonite]
Lloyd: Samsonite! I was way off! I knew it started with an S, though.

Sunday Sunday Sunday

Today felt like it would never end. It felt like one of the slowest days at work since I’ve been working there. Hardly anything was sold, and for the most part of the day, I was the only one that managed to stay awake. It was hotter than hell out, and time felt like it had come to a complete stop. We close at 7:00 on Sundays, and even tho we had been open all damn day, someone decided they needed to buy a car at 6:59. It never fails. So it took another hour for us to actually get out of there. Brutal. Maybe I should look into Pigeon Forge vacation rentals. awww ya.

Ecards

If you have someone in your family who has a birthday coming up, or maybe a friend who is graduating soon, but you didn’t have time to run out and mail a card, you can still tell them how you feel with online greeting cards. You will find everything from Birthdays, Valentines Day, Anniversaries, and all major holidays. They have both funny and romantic free flash animated ecard styles to choose from. Finding a card to fit the occasion should be no problem at all. Best of all it is completely free, and they will receive it almost instantly. Try finding that at a greeting card store.

Vista. No Thanks.

Even with the added ram and video, Vista was still driving me nuts. What a piece of crap. I immediately had compatibility problems with the first 3 games I tried, and then for some reason it seemed like Vista was choking on itself ever few seconds. Needless to say I have ditched it once again and gone back to good ol XP. Time spent much longer with Vista and a prescription drug addiction would be just around the corner. Maybe I will give them a year or so to make it suck less and I’ll try again.

Titan Quest

Titan Quest so far is a pretty kickass game. Its like diablo 2 had been taking muscle milk. The graphics are better, and the animation is smoother, but they pretty much stuck to the same style for everything else, which is a good thing. I just wonder how long it is. I am zooming through it pretty quick.

Finally

My video card has finally arrived, and I can now resume the quest for finding a game that doesn’t completely suck. Maybe game companies should do a little more than market research alone before creating and releasing such garbage. Surely there is something worth playing that isn’t fps or rts. My big S-video cable also arrived and I have now got my monitor cloned onto the big screen. It looks really sweet when running emulators. Think I’ll give Titan Quest a try. It looks decent, but who knows.

Snail Mail

My video card still hasn’t arrived. I guess that is understandable considering it is coming from Hong Kong. It’s been like a week tho, it could have been here by now. There really isnt a whole lot to do. I ran out of movies to watch. Guess I could clean, but thats not a lot of fun. I already took some pics of the kiddos. My wife got a sweet deal on a new camera. It looks a lot like the Canon Powershot. Its a lot better than our previous one. Guess I will see if I can dig up a movie I never got around to watching.
